After being in the insurance industry for almost 17 years in Hong Kong and in the same company, I realize biggest drawback in this industry is the mismatch of purchase by customers.

I blame largely to an agent's or broker's ability to fully explain enough so that customers know exactly what they are buying.  Many times, customers think they know what they are getting into because they do not even know what are the questions to ask.  Agent's or broker's should be experienced enough to raise any flags that customers may want to know or ask according their situation.

Unfortunately, the experience and expertise of an agent or broker are gained overtime.

I am hoping this website will shed unbiased information for people who want to know more about insurance policies, what they are buying, what they should buy and what they should expect.

Insurance is governed by law.  Therefore, even from different companies, there are basic requirements or basic procedures that are the same and according to law and regulations, not by a company and certainly not by an agent.
